Schedule & Fees

Courses for the 500+ hour Body-Mind Centering® Somatic Movement Educator program began in October 2019. After a long break due to the pandemic, we resume with Module 3 in October 2022. Courses can be taken individually or as part of the certification program.

Payment for Module 3 is due by 15 July 2022.
Module 3 will take place at Shebang! Dance Studio in Northcote.

Module 4: March 2023
Primitive Reflexes, Righting Reactions & Equilibrium Responses 16 – 22 March (6 days, day off 19/3)*

Ontogenetic Development 24 – 29 March (5 days, day off 26/3)*

Module 5: September/October 2023 (dates TBC)
Endocrine System, (5 days)

Ligamentous and Fascial System (7 days, one day off)

Payment for Module 5 is due by 1 July 2022

Module 6: February/March 2024 (dates TBC)
Muscular System, (9 days)

SME Competency, (1 day)

Professional Issues 1, (2 days)

Payment for Module 6 is due by 1 December 2023.

Exact days off may vary slightly pending venue availability.
Classes run approximately 9am-6pm daily.

Notes on course fees:
Fees shown include 10% GST.
New Zealand residents receive a 15% discount.
Course payments received less than 3 months before start date will incur a $75 administrative fee per course ($150 per module).

Two 50% Community Service Scholarships are available for each course OR the entire program. Scholarships have been allocated through early 2023 and applications are currently closed.

Homework requirements for those seeking certification include several guidance and private sessions with a certified BMC practitioner or teacher. Fees for these sessions are paid directly to the practitioner, and not included in the course fees.

Course descriptions:

*The first four courses of the Infant Developmental Movement Educator (IDME) Program – Senses and Perceptions 1, Ontogenetic Development, RRR and BNP – are part of the SME program. These courses can also be taken individually for people who wish to complete the IDME program (not currently being offered at SEA but are available at several other program locations. We hope to be able to offer this in a few years’ time.)

Skeletal System, 17-27 October 2019 (9 days, with days off 20/10 & 24/10)

Module 2:
Organ System, 14-21 February 2020 (7 days, day off 17/2)
Basic Neurocellular Patterns (BNP) 24 Feb – 2 March 2020 (7 days, day off 27/2)*

We plan to run these courses again and begin a new SME program cycle beginning in 2024.
